How to Create Timeless Designs?

This is not a troll post.

If you know you are bad in designing your future home, but want your friends to walk in and go “wah, nice house”, this is the secret.

Just go look at dogs LOL.

I’m serious. The colours of dogs are the blueprint for timeless designs. And there is a legit underlying reason for it.

Samoyed: White Minimalist

Golden Retriever: Scandinavian

Corgi: Japandi

Border Collie: Colonial

Why does this work?

Its because of the Universal Colour concept.

Certain colours, and their combinations, are by default universal.

White, black, brown, grey.

And these colours are exactly the colours of dogs!!

That’s why, as long as you “find a dog”, stick to those palettes, you’re pretty much safe.

Many designers also honestly look towards nature for design ideas cause it exists naturally, it works.

Stick to These Colours

We need to emphasise this so hard.

Don’t anyhow mix brown with purple just because you want.

You don’t see a brown retriever with purple patches do you?

In fact, just like most dogs, the most timeless designs are a mere combination of 2 colours.

Some people will say, “aiya, boring.” But boring is timeless. And timeless is chio.

Remember, we don’t know how to design. So for us classic Singaporeans, dogs don’t go out of fashion, and neither will their colours.
