Perfect Workmanship Doesn’t Exist

Let us say this straight - works done using labour will never ever be 100% perfect.

You can always try your best, but to expect perfection is a fantasy.

Watch our tiktok channel if you lazy to read.

Here’s a story.

This homeowner had a cabinet door with ABS trimming — the thing that seals the edge to makes the sides look neat.

This carpenter accidentally nicked the side, resulting in a scratch on the ABS.

Honestly, this kind of thing is easy to fix. You just re‑ABS it, and it looks brand new.

But guess what the homeowner did?

They took a marker pen, drew a giant red X across both sides of the door.

As if that was not enough, they then used a penknife to gouge the sides, so that it can never be used again.

Their logic?

“This door is already considered a defect, repair already (re-ABS it) is still a defect to us.”

Their explanation left us a little speechless.

For sure, it was the carpenter who accidentally scratched the ABS.

But who doesn’t make mistakes? Especially for carpentry works where there’s so much labour effort involved.

Furthermore, there was a clear and viable solution to it.

If labour could be 100%, Squid Game wouldn’t even have that honeycomb star challenge.

Perfection is impossible - there is only good enough.

Reality Check

No matter who your contractor is, end of the day they are only human.

Most homeowners are reasonable for sure, and won’t be so extreme.

We just want something like an 8/10 finish—solid, functional, looks good.

But if you’re the type who demands 10/10 perfection (especially while also insisting on dirt‑cheap prices), please ask yourself honestly:

  • Do you think it is possible?

  • Do you also not make a single mistake at work?
