Please Plan Your Aircon Trunking
Aircon trunking is really damn fat.
Among all the “pipes” in a house, be it electrical wiring, water pipes, gas pipes, aircon trunking is the biggest of them all.
Which is why its important to plan the aircon route properly, so that it isn’t ugly!
(Especially if you are the aesthetic kind of person)
Watch our tiktok channel if you lazy to read.
Aircon (AC) commonly consists of 3 core parts - AC Unit (the one that blows cold air), the Compressor (the rectangular tank outside your house) and the Trunking (the cables connecting the AC to the Compressor).
In the photo, you see how thick the trunking is that runs from the compressor into your house.
It slowly splits into each aircon, with an estimated width of 8cm including casing.
This width is clearly visible with the naked eye.
Why Planning Matters
That’s why we say planning matters, especially if you are the aesthetic kind.
IDs will recommend that you box it up - but how you box it up matters as well.
I’ve been to houses where the trunking was the first thing you noticed, it’s a literal elephant (trunk) in the room (haha!)
The owner didn’t mind, and frankly after a while most homeowners will look past it.
But if you’re particular about how your space looks, this is something to consider - how should the aircon pipes be concealed?
“Aesthetic”
“Just Run Lo”
TLDR
Aircon trunking is fat and obvious.
If aesthetics matter to you, plan the route carefully. It’s a small detail with big impact.
Don’t brush it away.
If it doesn’t matter, then skip this.
