Most people think smart homes are just about switching lights but it has become so advanced these days!!

So let us show you just a few of them! The last feature is really so damn useful.

1) Hand Gestures

The device on the left is a camera that uses smart recognition of the user’s voice and/or gestures to carry out tasks.

Example here is how the “two” sign was set up to draw the curtains, especially useful when you are going to or getting out of bed!

2) Smart Dice

In this example, the smart dice has a preset saved on each face.

The particular dice is calibrated to adjust the skylight settings as shown below.

Want romantic night light during the day time? Just “roll the dice” and it can do it.

3) “Forgot to off light”

This is a Smart Door Lock from Aqara!

But the super practical feature here is that when you tilt the handle upwards, you can off all the lights in your house!

It is damn common when we leave the house, we forget to off the light.

So if you can fix this with just one swing of the handle while going out, it is such a neat solution no??

How much does Smart Home cost?

A starter setup normally costs around $2,000 for a 4-room HDB.

This includes basic switches, lights, door lock and 1 or 2 customised features (eg. automated curtain track).

Of course, the more features you add, the more the price scales.
