We know where this homeowner’s comment is coming from.
We are asking you to be nice, not asking you to be a pushover. Ultimately the decision to choose which ID is in your hands, not theirs.
But if you give off the impression that you are hard to manage, I guarantee you IDs will price your quotation higher.
Examples include going into 1st meeting nitpicking IDs as a “know-it-all”, want IDs to reply them instantaneously, or just outright rude.
This is the “Difficult Customer Premium”.
It does not benefit you really.
It’s basic human psychology and social skills right.
When people treat you nicely, you naturally reciprocate. Conversely, when someone is rude to you, frustration builds and you might respond in kind.
“他人好,我尽量帮他。” A very common phrase among IDs & contractors.
If you’re respectful, good IDs/contractors even often go the extra mile during the renovation, such as thoughtful touches or helping you resolve issues instantly.
Imagine if you are a b****, they really won’t go above and beyond.
If you feel the renovator is taking advantage of you, you can always choose someone else, or our homeowners can always ask us.
Believe it or not is up to you guys la, but this is really from our experience.

Even if you are a b****, just pretend like you are not. It is to your benefit.
