TV Console - To Ground or To Suspend?
Most houses now build a TV console carpentry during renovation.
The purpose is to provide storage and hide the 348 cables coming from your TV, Switch, Movie Box, thus making the place look neat.
The thing is TV console can actually be built grounded to the floor, or suspended.

Grounded Console
As with all design questions- there’s no right answer, only factors to consider.
We prefer it grounded, but we can understand the allure of it being suspended!
Suspended TV Consoles
Prettier (?): Suspended look classier, especially in minimalist homes. The elevation gives an airy, light feeling and makes it feel like there’s more floor space rather than “eating into it”. For condos, this is especially the case.
Easier to Clean: If the height gap is big enough, it is actually easier to clean, especially when most houses have robot cleaners now that can just woop through!
Inflexible: Fixed to the wall, you won’t be able to easily change the position. Especially If you like shifting furniture once in a while or changing TV positions, this can be limiting.
Downwards Pressure: There is a possibility that over a long time it might slowly inch downwards, especially if the load gets extremely heavy.
Grounded Consoles
Looks OK: Less “floating” appeal, but it is still neat and can look chio.
Flexible: You can easily swap and move it to wherever you want!
Harder to clean: Dust easily collects at the sides and underneath. And it will be those “hard to reach” places that will require one of those special special mop extensions.
TLDR
You have 2 options for TV console, either leave it grounded, or make it suspended.
Suspended tend to look classier but grounded tend to be more practical.
Personally, we prefer it grounded, but eventually it is dependent on what you prioritise!
